Amy's Woodcarvings

Nessie

Carved in 1992 from a piece of driftwood
which had been picked up from the shore of Loch Ness
by my sister-in-law, about twenty years ago.
The base is a block of cherry.

Actual size (including base) 10.75 inches tall.

The top of her head has a bony ridge, sort of like a dragon's,
and her tongue is forked.
Her feet are webbed and her tail flattens into a fan shape at the end.
She's clinging to a seaweed-topped piling, holding her egg.
